Frank Ocean is my winter jam.
I first read about Olive Vintage on the Feliz blog and was totally charmed - an amalgam of new gifts, clothing, and two simple racks of beautiful vintage. So the very next week I asked Laura if I could stop by and I brought a little vintage stash along with me. All I can say is that we hit it off! Laura’s vision for the shop, her eye for unique pieces, and her spunky personality left me thinking, “I’ve got to partner with this girl.”
One week later, she came over for a photo shoot for her blog, Rad Lady, and we pored through my boxes, closets, and racks. I loved how we just talked while Laura was shooting; the atmosphere felt really comfortable and casual. And thank God it did - I couldn’t find my curling iron OR makeup that morning!
Stay tuned for more. I have a feeling the LBD event won’t be the last collaboration…

This summer Mel and Becky called me in for a little vintage inspiration and I ran with it. Their vision included a sixties style wardrobe, state plates for the table settings, and a punch of Heineken green. My favorite piece was the bride’s custom dress - it was a maxi dress with long sleeves that I had altered to perfectly fit the model. Layered with brass antiques and Bell and Byrd jewelry, I absolutely loved styling this shoot.

All I wanted was a pretty wedding. And I got one. Working with the ladies at Loot, we hatched a plan to create a high - low affair, blending formal elements of a traditional wedding with whimsical details that ushered in a relaxed, but beautiful party. I’ve been dying to share a few photos, so enjoy this sneak peak.

Another must was one, long table. With half of our guests traveling long distances and because the evening represented a blending of lives and families, I wanted a dining experience that reflected the gathering. Here are old brass candlesticks mixed with vintage china place settings and mason jars and cactus for the formal - whimsical vision.

Austin Fashion Week hosts a Mash-Up contest every year; teams comprise a local designer, stylist, photographer, and model that bring their gifts together. The crews collaborate on a photo shoot and submit it to AFW for two possible awards: People’s Choice and the Timothy White Award for Best Mash Up Image. This year, I styled with the Mash-Up Team Gold Raven and we won one of top five coveted spots for Best Mash Up Image!

I had the pleasure of designing floral arrangements and styling tables for a recent wedding, and absolutely loved the wild feel of the bouquets! I wrapped them with vintage handkerchiefs for a soft and feminine finish, and paired them with old books bound in twine on the tables. Using old and new together creates truly creates an interesting centerpiece, even with ordinary objects, don’t you think? And there is such magic in that mix.

I had the amazing opportunity of working with Anna at Loot to style a riverside wedding with The Simplifiers. Anna choose some vintage, almost quilt like fabric from a shop in Fredericksburg, and I made a pattern for those beautiful striped pillows that served as seats. We draped antique crocheted tablecloths across a canoe and set the table with lace linens and silver. The vintage china settings were adorned with little balsa wood sailboats that offered whimsy to the nautical theme. We were up early and constantly trying new things to re imagine the space, the table, and the set but it was so worth it. Thanks again, Anna, for the amazing opportunity. What a treat!
